Can you tell us about the career path which led to where you are today?
My journey in hospitality began with two-weeks work experience at The Cavendish London, where I had the opportunity to work alongside the Concierge Team. I quickly immersed myself in the roles of luggage porter, doorman, and Concierge; learning the ins and outs of the industry. There was no turning back after that experience. At just 16, I secured a full-time position at The Savoy Hotel, marking the official start of my career.
Five years later, I moved to Brown’s Hotel before returning to The Cavendish London as Deputy Head Concierge at 21. After two years, I took on my first Head Concierge role at The Park Tower Knightsbridge, which set the stage for my current position. Today, I’m proud to have been part of the pre-opening team at 1 Hotel Mayfair, a place I’m proud to call home.
"For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a Concierge is the ability to make a lasting, positive impact on someone's experience."
Are there any specific mentors you’ve looked to for guidance, and how have they helped you on your journey?
Yes, absolutely. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some amazing mentors. One, in particular, a seasoned Head Concierge, taught me not just the technical aspects of the job, but the importance of building relationships with guests and colleagues. They emphasized how crucial empathy and understanding are to deliver exceptional service. Their guidance shaped my approach to leadership and customer care and I still apply those lessons today. I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors and now I aim to give back. Recently, I hosted the Concierge Educational Day, designed to equip the next generation of Les Clefs d’Or Concierges with essential skills for success. Supporting my team’s growth and guiding others on their career paths is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?
From starting my career at The Savoy at just 16, my goal has always been clear: to become a Les Clefs d’Or Concierge. Eight years ago, I achieved this dream at the age of 21, becoming the youngest ever to receive the prestigious Golden Keys. Additionally, I am extremely proud to have been awarded the prestigious Young Concierge of the Year Award, as it reflects the dedication I have put into my craft. This award is even more meaningful, in honour of Jack Kidd, who was a leading example of what a Concierge should be.
Dealing with guests cannot always be easy; what’s your approach to winning over difficult guests?
Every guest is unique and understanding that is key. When I encounter a difficult guest, I first listen carefully, acknowledging their concerns and frustrations. I find that often, they simply want to feel heard and understood. Then, I work to offer solutions that are practical and empathetic. It’s important to remain calm, stay professional, and aim to turn their experience around by going above and beyond what they expect.
What personal sacrifices have you had to make to become so successful in this field?
Success in hospitality requires dedication, often at the cost of personal time and missed family moments. Yet, the joy of exceeding guests' expectations makes it all worthwhile. I’ve learned to value balance, cherishing time with my family, who remain my biggest supports and motivation.

What attributes do you think you possess that make you a successful Head Concierge?
A good Head Concierge needs to be an excellent communicator, organised and resourceful. Empathy is critical because understanding guests’ needs and anticipating their desires can make all the difference. Additionally, leadership skills are essential for managing a team, motivating others and creating a culture of service excellence. A Head Concierge must also be adaptable, as every day can bring a new challenge.
If you could give advice to Concierge new to this profession, what would it be?
My advice to a new Concierge is to embrace curiosity and always strive to learn — about your guests, your city and the world around you. Listen more than you speak, as understanding a guest’s needs is key to exceeding their expectations. Build strong relationships with local businesses, as they are invaluable partners in creating exceptional experiences. Finally, approach every interaction with genuine passion and a smile —hospitality is about making people feel seen, valued and cared for.

What is the most rewarding thing about being a Concierge?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a Concierge is the ability to make a lasting, positive impact on someone's experience. Whether it’s arranging the perfect night out or helping a guest navigate an unfamiliar city, there’s an unmatched sense of satisfaction in knowing you've created memorable moments for them. The gratitude guests express is truly priceless, and it's this sense of meaningful contribution that fuels my passion for the role. Equally fulfilling is the opportunity to support and guide my team, watching them grow and thrive in their careers — an experience that keeps me motivated every day.
Les Clefs d’Or’s motto is ‘service through friendship’; how important is collaboration with colleagues across the industry to you?
Collaboration is vital. Hospitality is all about teamwork, both within your hotel and across the broader industry. It’s incredible how much you can learn from other professionals, whether it’s other concierges, event planners, or local vendors. Building a network of trusted colleagues and service providers is key to offering guests the very best recommendations and experiences. The motto “service through friendship” truly captures the spirit of how we, as concierges, work together to enhance the guest experience.
